How can yoga improve your game?
If you are a passionate golfer, you may be surprised at how yoga can help to improve and transform your game. Swinging and striking the ball consistently from one side of your body creates imbalances throughout the body that can result in pain, injury and general stiffness. Yoga can effectively readdress that balance.
The class begins with a dynamic warm up syncronising the breath to the movement, flowing on to more static postures which will help with strenghtening the core, opening the shoulders, and mobilising the hips. The class ends with relaxation helping you to release tension and stress.
I also incorporate pre-golf yoga warm-ups and post-round stretches which are simple to follow and can be easily introduced into your golfing routine. These techniques will help to add flexibility and focus to your game, whilst helping to prevent injury.
Practising yoga on a regular basis will help you power your swing and after a few classes, you will be cutting strokes like a pro!
